The AAWT is one of the classic extended bushwalks in Australia, covering about 670km in its official length. The route folows the Alpine Regions of Vicoria, NSW and the ACT. While none of the highest peaks in each state are officially visited by the trail, I will be making minor detours to ensure I "peak bag" all three, along with many others.
The aim of my walk is not to set any records for speedy completion, but to simply spend an extended period walking in solitude in nature. I would like time to explore places that take my fancy, and most importantly have the lesure to take photographs whenever I see a good shot!
This blog, webpages and interactive google map have been setup to provide viewers with a glimpse of what it is like to experience this kind of extended walk. I will be uploading photographs and reports as time and communications permit, most likely when in when I have some rest days in the ski villages of Hotham and Thredbo.
I do not intend to provide a immensly detailed "trip report" of the whole adventure, as this has been covered significantly by others.
If you are planning a similar journey along the AAWT and are after such detailed information, please see the following blogs/websites for excellent information.
